Want to run for office in Whitman County?  Important dates and open positions listed below.

Candidate filing by mail:  April 30-May 18, 5 pm

Candidate filing in person: May 14 (8 am)-May 18, 5 pm

Online candidate filing: May 14 (9 am)-May 18, 4 pm) (www.secstate.wa.gov).

Positions open for filing in Whitman County are:

  • Commissioner District No. 3
  • Assessor
  • Auditor
  • Superior Court Clerk
  • Coroner
  • Prosecuting Attorney
  • Sheriff
  • Treasurer
  • District Court Judge
  • All County Precinct Committee Officers

Candidate filing forms are available at the Whitman County Elections office, located at 304 N. Main St. Colfax, WA. Hours 8 am-noon & 1-5 pm

Should no person file for any one of these positions,  a special 3 day filing period for that position will take place from May 21 (8 am)-May 23 (5 pm)
